We also went to my darling sister's place for a small Xmas party.
She ordered catering from Neo Garden and as expected the food is good, as always.
Seriously I am pretty impressed with their service and the food they serve. And surprisingly, even the Xmas menu is GOOD!!!

The young lady received many wonderful gifts this year..
Thanks everyone. And she loved them all.
Even I received a real wonderful gift too. With compliments from my baby sister.

MERRY XMAS!!

WOW!!!

This year, I have been "chionging" Xmas for the whole week!!!!!

I am all "shacked" with the last minute gifts shopping, Xmas gatherings and photo taking....

Even the strongest brew of coffee don't work for me!! HAHA..

Well, we went to Grace's house for the children's Xmas gathering and Princess had fun..

Too bad that she is still having a running nose or she would have loved to take a dip in the pool..

But well with so many friends to play with, she enjoyed herself very much.

Grace prepared a "feast" for the adults and finish the party with the cutest Xmas cakes that I have seen from Coffee Bean..

We received your Xmas gift already DARLING!!!!

Daddy's gift for us arrived the day before and it was lovely and thoughtful..

Daddy got two bags, a Coach handphone strap, for me. A play-doh ice cream maker, a beauty case set and an art set for our little Princess..

The little one was simply delighted with the beauty case as it contains accessories which doll her up and enjoyed playing dress up.

Daddy also included Xmas cards for each of us and I really must say that my hubby is really sweet cos he chose not just a Xmas card but one that comes with Xmas song which also has lightings once u opened it up for the Princess. And that bubbly girl loves it!!

"Thank YOu dARliNg"!!!

I hope u like the gift I made for u too :)

Brought the little one to Orchard yesterday and took pictures of the beautiful lightings.

I must say I like this year's lightings the best cos it is just so romantic.

"If only u were here darling"..

Happy Holidays..

Its the season to be Merry again!! For Christmas is here...

I believe this is the first time that I will not be spending Christmas with my darling hubby except for the times when I have to be away for duty..

Anyway I still applied for leave cos I did not want my darling Princess to spent Xmas without Daddy and Mummy cos that would be CRUEL!!!!!!!!

"And mummy promise to spend all Xmas with you as long as you wish me too.."

This is the second Xmas for the Princess and this year we will be spending it at Auntie Grace's place. Currently I am in New York doing my last minute Xmas shopping. The weather here is freezing!!! And after the trip back from Shanghai, I realised that I actually hate winter!

Don't u think it is such a hassle just to be dressed up like a polar bear just to get some shopping done! It's CRAZY!! With all that lugging of huge plastic and paper bags, its soooooo YUCKY!
I feel like an elephant!!

And if u realise, I have not been posting recently again, that is because my patience, courage and life has once again been put to the test.
I think someone out there really don't like me that much.

My poor little Princess came back from Shanghai with a terrible gift..
She had serious diarrhoea and vomiting. And it was so bad that she did not even had the energy to stand and I had to carry her all the time. So can u imagine that the only time that I could go to the toilet was when she finally got to sleep.

That was not all, my MIL also caught something which until now, we do not know what was it, and was also vomiting throughout the day!!!

The house was a mess and after they recovered, I was not spared too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This whole dramatic days of diarrhoea and vomiting took us almost 2 weeks to finally settle down. I seriously am having second thoughts about settling down together with hubby at Shanghai.

I need strength. Somebody please CHARGE ME UP!!!!! I am seriously drained...

That is all I want for Christmas..

My beautiful young lady

BUs Bus BUs Bus

This has been Leia's faourite word of the week..

"BUS BUS BUS!!!!"

"The wheels on the bus go round and round..
Round and round..
Round and round..
The wheels on the bus go round and round, All day long..."

Haha Haha!!!

Recently, Barney has been Leia's favourite cartoon character instead of Elmo.
Probably she has been watching plenty of Barney's educational dvds, I guess.

Also my sister tells me that she loves riding onto those rocking horses which is similar to the one that u can see in the picture.

They are not cheap u know!!! So whenever we bring her shopping, we'll try to see if we can find one for her to ride on.
And in Robinsons, there are plenty of them which all look gorgeous..

The little Princess was enchanted by all those pretty but darn expensive rocking horse.

Who do u choose?

Few days ago, someone asked me this question...

If u had to choose between your husband and yr child/children, who would u choose?

And without any hesitation, I said: "My child, of coz!!!!"
"Sorry hubby!!"

But today as I was showering, this question came into my mind..

This question looks simple but it leads to many thoughts. When I answered the question, I chose my child without any hesitation as I am a mother to a 16months old right now.
A young toddler that has no means to fend for herself.

And to live a life without her mother would be one of the cruelest thing to a child.

But what if my child has grown up and is an adult, with her own life and family, would I have given the same answer?

Frankly, I don't know. For I am not GOD and I am a measly human being, full of feelings that often rules over my head.

My, husband, is a man whom I have learned to love and appreciate with each and every passing day. A man that I never thought I would marry (vice versa.. "he din think he would marry me too!!"). But all I can say that God always has plans and this man would be my husband.

But what I am trying to say here is that, if your husband had betrayed u, would u forgive him or leave him? And choose your child even though he/she has become an adult?

Many women that I know of, choose to live with that kind of betrayal and silently forgive but not forget.

And what about if u, a mother, wife, has found another relationship? Would u abandon your child and live the life that you want?

Humans , by nature are very selfish creatures to some extend. But what is your limit?

For me, my family, is one of the most treasured gift I have received from GOD.
They mean so much to me.

There will be no choice and answer as they are all equally important to me.
Last but not least, I will never choose another man to destroy the trust and love that is suroundding my family...

Looking forward..

I am so looking forward to the Princess's next holiday and it will be soon!!!!!!!

"Darling baby, mummy's going to bring you to Shanghai, to visit your Daddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I really can't wait.. But the disappointing thing is that I can't get a seat!! All the flights to Shanghai on the date that we want to depart are FULL!!!!!!!!! And we have to be on standby list.. But by hook or by crook, I am going to Shanghai cos both me and my little princess miss daddy so much..

A valuable lesson

Today I attended a very valuable lesson. One that has opened my thoughts and feelings that have lingered in my heart for the past week.

In the class, I was shown this:

"THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN CHILD REARING"

What is the foremost foundation of child-rearing?
It is to convey the parents' love to the child.
Parents' love grows the child.
Without love, the large potential in human beings cannot grow.

It is said that the planting of sad feelings could stem from any of the 3 stages: as a fetus in the womb, at birth or between the ages of 0-3 years.
A way to cure this is with a mother's apology to the child for the specific negative thought that was implanted.
Even at 3 months, the negative thoughts of a pregnant woman about her unborn child, would cause her fetus to start rejecting all information. This would lead to a child with poor memory or even one with learning disabilities.
Such negative thoughts plant sadness in the fetus' heart, which resolve in repeated nightly crying episodes as a child.

As I look upon myself, I see truth and possibilities in the conclusion above.

Most mothers, even me myself, think that they love their children enough. However, most children think likewise which makes child rearing difficult.

Are parents conveying their love for their child sufficiently or there are communication problems which results in love not reaching to the child correctly.
When a mother communicates her love to the her child skillfully, the child will immediately change into a good child.

In the class, we were taught 3 ways to communicate our love to our child.
(1) Eight Second Hugging
(2) The Echo Method
(2) The 5 minute Suggestion Method

The 8 sec Hugging Method
When a child accomplish a task and has complied to what he is being told to do, give the child a big hug and whisper encouraging, thank you words.
Mummy or Daddy must make sure it is not just a little hug but continue to hold the child close for 8 secs. Most importantly, must love, respect them and believe in their ability.

The Echo Method
Mothers are often careful to speak frequently to their children but not vice-versa.
However it is very very important that parents listen to what their child has to say.
Many at times, parents forget to listen what the child has got to say and only wants the child to listen to what daddy or mummy has got to say which is very sad and disheartening for the child.

The 5 mins Suggestion Method
Follow the procedures:
a) First, talk to the child, "You're sleeping now. You can hear my voice".
b) Give your love by saying, "Daddy and Mummy loves you".
c) Enforce the bonding by saying, "Mummy's heart and your heart is always together".
d) Visualise your child as what you say, eg. "You're a genius. Your concentration is good. Your problems of spelling will go away. You will read and write well. You can see the flash cards. Mummy loves you. You can sleep well till the next morning".

The 5 mins Suggestion method has to be used continuously for 7-21 days or till the child is changing for the better.
Do not doubt its effect or complain about the child in the daytime.

During the class, there were some parents who were laughing and thinking how can all these be true or if they would work??!!
In my case, I feel that there is no harm trying and I have always believe in my child.
My little Princess does not have to be a doctor or a lawyer or even have the best grades in class. As long as she knows that her Daddy and Mummy loves her for just being her and that she grows to be a healthy and happy child. That is all that Daddy and Mummy hopes.

I fully understand the importance of a parent's love, encouragement, assurance, respect and belief it is to a child. All of us was once a child to our parents and looking back, isn't all these that was what we had seek and wanted from them?

I may not be the perfect parent but I love my child deeply, therefore I will make an effort to be there for my Princess.

I am no longer the "tu tu" girl!!

Princess has officially quit relying on her pacifier for comfort. She has not been sucking on it for almost 2 weeks and I am thankful that the retirement of the pacifier has been a smooth one.
It was actually the princess's idea of rejecting it as 2 weeks ago, it seems that when she was given the "tu tu" to suck on was making her more awake rather than giving her the comfort to sleep as she had been teething. So she resorted to tossing and turning which made her sleep in the night.
With me witnessing this for 3 nights, I decided that I would slowly help her say goodbye to her "tu tu" friend.
And soon enough, my baby has turned into a little young lady that is able to soothe herself to sleep without the use of the pacifier.
Mummy is so proud of you..

I am seeing the rainbow..

It has been a tiring month with tons and tons of visits to the hospital.
Hubby is now back in Sin to see his dad. Things are turning better and definitely good for me as my precious hubby is with me.
My mood has improved dramatically. I finally see the rainbow.
Rain clouds and thunderstorms had been covering my head for the past six weeks.

Friends have really been kind and comforting to me. Thank You.

"Leia, mummy is sorry that I have not been updating the blog on your learning journey. Mummy is now back up on the feet and promise to be a better parent."

Princess has definitely grown and at a tremendously fast speed. She can walk very stably now and loves to speed herself around the house.

She calls me "Mama" every now and then. Her first word was "Ye Ye", then "Pa Pa", then "Ma Ma"..
She is starting to say more things right now. She says "mooo", "meowww", "piss (please)", "gii ger(ginger)", "bar bers(bubbles)","bor(ball)", "bor bor(por por)", "nine(nice)", "no mor(no more)", "ga ga(ka ka)", "mill(milk)", "duck", "nai nai".

Princess is a bubbly child with a real big temper. I don't think I have to wait till she is 2 to experience a huge temper from her. I can already see that she is growing up into a big girl with a mind and character of her own. It can get pretty frustrating at times when she throw her tantrums but I try to remind myself that she is an individual and I have to learn to respect her. Of course that does not mean that I approve her of everything..
Right now I am enjoying every moment that I spend with her. She is so precious and special to me.

Every time when I feel sad, looking at her takes my unhappiness away.

Never ending challenges..

First and most importantly, I feel extremely blessed that I am surrounded by all the encouragement and kindness that I receive from my family and friends.
I thank all who have showered me with all the strength and support through this extremely hard period of time that I am going through..

Darling hubby left for China yesterday. Mom-in-law was all teary when she sent him at the airport whereas I fought back my tears as I did not want to show my unwillingness for him to go. I know it is hard for him too so I want him to know that all is fine and that happier days will come..

Leia turns 14 months today and it is also the first time that I have brought her to the clinic at Thomson Medical Clinic for her chickenpox jab without hubby.
She is definitely a very brave girl. She stopped crying the instant Dr Ong showed her soapy bubbles. I am so proud of you darling.

Our family has been plagued with endless problems since the last time I blogged.
First it was my mother-in-law who got admitted into the hospital for an infection, then it was my father-in-law. Hubby and I have been in and out of the hospital so many times that We almost lost our mind!!!

The pressure and tension in the house was simply unbearable. His father, till now, is still in the hospital with questions about his health. And the trouble does not end there, it is simply too tiring to write and put it in words.

I need rest..
I am really tired..

Wednesday, July 25, 2007

Many thoughts run through my mind tonight as I held the Princess in my arms.. Suddenly I felt really upset as hubby was not at home with us tonight.. We had just sent him to the airport in the afternoon where he had gone to Indonesia for a business trip..

I just felt really lonely.. I really miss him..

I realise I am not that independent after all.. As the date gets closer for his overseas posting, I get more and more cranky each and every day.. Knowing that days like these would soon be here just make me all choked up..
Despite me always saying that if he were to be unfaithful to me, I would not give a damn.. In actual fact, I would be so heart broken.. My world would pretty much collapse I believe..

God created both man and woman for a reason. Like he created left and right.. It just would not feel right without the other..

But We both know that he just have to go.. For a better future ahead.. I wonder if I would get use to not hearing his nagging, his silliness, his "smell", his "leg scratching", his long long hours on the toilet seat and every other single thing..
I also hate the fact that he would be missing out so much on his little girl's growing up milestones.. She calls him "PaPa" so loud and clear.. It melts my heart every time she does that..

Every day, hour, mins and seconds spent with the little one is such a heart warming experience..
I hate going to work now.. I hate leaving her.. I simply cherish and love all the time I being together with her..

I realise how precious it is to be able to spent time together as a family.. No amount of money can buy this kind of feeling..

Just thoughts and feelings..

Leia's 1st holiday..

Samui Island is simply beautiful. We love the food, sun, sand and people there.. Most tourist there are Eurasians and the Thai people were all very warm and friendly.. Most of them mistook us as Thais..Haha..
This was such a fun but tiring trip. The Princess is able to walk now after she came back from Samui.. She did a lot of walking on the beach at Samui.. she also gave lots of flying kisses on the trip..wat a sweetie..
My little Princess has definitely grown.. She babbles a lot.. Says "bar bar","ball ball","duc duc","eeelllmo" and her favourite"ger"..which she refers to as Ginger..
She no longer likes soft mushy food, she enjoys real human adult food and loves to chew cucumbers.. She is such a BIG girl now..
Everyday spent with her is such a joy.. I look forward to our next holiday together..
